A Competitive Incentive Program
The state of Oklahoma offers a highly competitive cash rebate incentive under the Filmed in Oklahoma Act of 2021 (via the Oklahoma Film + Music Office, OF+MO). Projects that film principal photography in-state may qualify for a base rebate of 20% of qualified Oklahoma expenditures. Beyond that base rate, there are several “uplift” opportunities that can increase the rebate up to 30% (or thereabouts) when certain criteria are met.
What Uplifts Are Available?

Here are examples of how productions can achieve a higher rebate: Rural county uplift: filming on location in a county under ~250,000 population can earn ~3% extra.
Small municipality uplift: filming in a municipality under ~13,000 people may add ~2%.

Certified soundstage uplift: if at least 25% of principal photography is on a certified soundstage and at least 1% of direct expenditures are spent at the soundstage, you may qualify for ~5% more.

TV / multi-film / post-production uplifts:

TV pilot: +2%
TV season: +5%
Multi-film deal (at least 3 films/3 years): +5%
If at least 3% of qualified expenditures are spent on Oklahoma post-production: +3% uplift.
